About Us: Our Sacred Sanctuary
Where Devotion Meets Timeless Heritage
Nestled in Vadakadathukavu near Adoor, Uliyanattu Devi Temple is a revered haven of faith. Here, the divine presence of Durga, Bhadrakali, Lakshmi, Bhuvaneshwari, and Lord Shiva (Ulak Udaya Perumal) inspires daily worship. Renovated in 2021 by the Uliyanattu Devi Kshetra Kudumba Yogam, the temple now shines as a beacon of spiritual revival, with members sponsoring poojas, a monthly Kudumba Pooja, and the significant Ayilya Pooja held every March.

Our Story: A Journey of Valour and Faith
Peril to Promise with Divine grace in abundance
Our temple’s legacy dates back to the 18th century, when the Malabar Province was under siege by Tippu Sultan. Amid chaos, a valiant family with a traditional Kalari suffered immense loss. Determined to preserve their sacred heritage, the revered elder lady led a perilous escape, carrying four cherished deities with her. After a challenging escapade to the southern direction, they got solace and shelter at the current venue and established a Kalari, Devi temple, conventional Kavu and the Uliyanadu Kudumbam. Acknowledging the valiant support rendered during the cotemporary battles, the Kayamkulam Raja honoured the Kalari and Kudumbam with various titles. The family’s legacy was further immortalized with the installation of idols for Durga, Bhadrakali, Lakshmi, Bhuvaneswari, and Lord Shiva, along with revered Ammumma and her devoted and valiant brother personified as Aruvala Ammavan. Today, our vibrant community continues to celebrate this enduring saga of resilience, devotion, and divine protection.
